The 15th International Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology is sponsored by the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE). ISPE is dedicated to advancing the science, methods, capacity, communication, public understanding and support of pharmacoepidemiology toward the end of assuring, promoting and protecting the health of all persons using medications.
Overview: The purpose of this conference is to provide a forum for the exchange of information among academic researchers, medical care practitioners, health care administrators, and colleagues in the pharmaceutical industry, and regulatory agencies of information concerning epidemiologic approaches to studying the efficacy and safety of pharmaceuticals. The conference will include invited lecturers, symposia, workshops and platform and poster presentations of selected research abstracts.
Educational Objectives for the Conference as a whole: At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Provide an international perspective and a better understanding of pharmacoepidemiology as a decision-making tool useful in addressing questions concerning the utilization, efficacy, and safety of licensed drugs,
- Describe recent developments in methodology related to the discipline, and
- Identify recent and newly discovered adverse effects of medication.
