Academic Showcase/Welcome Reception

ISPE would like to highlight graduate academic programs in pharmacoepidemiology, epidemiology and other related disciplines at the 2003 Annual Meeting. We believe this exposure is mutually beneficial to academic programs and to the Society. Participating programs will:

• Reinforce ties with their alumni.
• Introduce attendees to new educational opportunities at their schools.
• Provide an opportunity for their students to learn about the Society and career opportunities in pharmacoepidemiology and to network with practicing professionals.

The academic programs will be showcased at the Welcome Reception, which will begin at 6:00pm, Thursday, August 21, 2003. This kickoff social event traditionally is the "ice breaker" for the meeting. It will follow two popular ISPE courses held earlier that day — Introduction to Pharmacoepidemiology and Advanced Topics in Pharmacoepidemiology. (Students registering for the ISPE conference can attend both educational sessions at no charge.)
