The New, Upgraded ISPE Website — Another Member Benefit
By Mark Epstein and Harry Seifert

An objective of the Society's strategic plan is to improve communications among and between ISPE members and staff using the ISPE website (www.pharmacoepi.org) as a preferred communications tool.

The Board formed the ISPE Website Task Force to help ensure the website continues to meets members' needs. Task Force members include Harry Seifert, Leader, Website Task Force, Jackie Gardner; Marj Shannon; Jean Kilgour-Christie; Rizwan Ahmad; Scribe Editor, Peter Gruer; C. Ineke Neutel, FISPE; Gerald Faich, FISPE; Felix Arellano, FISPE; Michael Lewis, FISPE; Paul Dolin; and Daniel Fife, Chair, ISPE Publications Committee.

The Task Force, in conjunction with the Development Committee and Membership Committee, proposed several modifications to the website to improve the usefulness of the website site for both members and visitors.

The changes include:

  • Move Scribe from print to electronic format. You are reading the inaugural issue.

  • Buyers Guide. ISPE now offers new organizational members the ability to publicize their products and services on the website. This guide will include contact and service/product information for organizational members as well as electronic link to the member's web site.

  • A new module for Therapeutic Risk Management. This section will include links of interest, publications, meetings and other information.

  • Improved access to the Members Only section. Members will be able to create a unique user-ID and password.

  • An online form for members to update their information.

ISPE is working with Potomac Digitek (PODI), our technology partner, to implement these changes. PODI has collaborated with ISPE since 2000 by helping to design and build the Society's website, and by help with such enhancements as online registration, online voting, and e-commerce.

The ISPE website is a work-in-progress. You can help us continue to improve its quality and content by giving us your feedback and suggestions at ISPE@paimgmt.com.
