Bienvenue à Bordeaux
By Mark H. Epstein

In this year of Olympian events, I am delighted to tell you the names of Nicholas Moore, Annie Fourrier-Reglat, Cees Schep, Nancy Dreyer, Kuni Hayashi, Nicole Hartnell, and countless other ISPE volunteers will be etched into the record book for their dazzling performances in Bordeaux. The combined efforts of Team 2004 have resulted in the most abstracts received (>700), most abstract reviewers (>250), most reviewers attending a Scientific Program Committee (>80), greatest student involvement, most participants at an annual meeting (>760 and still counting!), and most financial support raised on behalf of the annual meeting (>$120,000 USD). Thank you all.

Planning, organizing and implementing an annual meeting is a tremendous undertaking. Look at the names and organizations listed in the final program; without these volunteers the Bordeaux meeting would not be as big a success as I anticipate. And don't forget the others — authors/contributors, moderators, sponsors, exhibitors, Bordeaux Conference Center, Bordeaux Visitors Bureau, Accor Hotels/Bordeaux, staff and the participants. Take a bow. I know you will hear about the Bordeaux meeting for many years.

Not to worry. ISPE is well prepared for the future. Team 2005 anchored by Wayne Ray and Billy Holden has been warming up, and can't wait to accelerate. ISPE members are cordially invited to participate on Team 2005 – Nashville. Y'all come! Send an email to ISPE (ISPE@paimgmt.com) if you are up for a challenge and would like to review abstracts!
