42nd Annual Meeting Description and Purpose

The ISPE 2026 Annual Meeting, themed “Unlocking the Power of Pharmacoepidemiology to Improve Patient Health will address key issues and emerging solutions in pharmacoepidemiology. The growing availability of healthcare data offers opportunities to rapidly generate real-world evidence (RWE) that can substantially improve patient health. In recent years, several regulatory agencies have issued guidance on the use of reliable RWE to support informed decision-making. Despite the increase in volume and complexity of healthcare data sources and the development of advanced analytic methods, important gaps remain in the utilization of RWE in regulatory and clinical decision-making. The meeting aims to strengthen the pharmacoepidemiology contribution to patient health by addressing the challenges in generating robust RWE and translating it into practice across clinical decision-making, regulatory, risk management, risk communication, and public health contexts. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, and experts from around the world, offering a unique forum for interdisciplinary exchange. Participation in the ISPE annual meeting 2026 will provide opportunities to enhance knowledge through high-quality pre-conference courses, to gain new perspectives from keynote lectures, plenary sessions, workshops, and symposia, and to engage with colleagues conducting cutting-edge research. ISPE fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment for connecting with leading researchers, building new professional relationships, and stimulating future collaborations across academia, industry, and regulatory settings.
