In recent years, there has been a notable increase in proposals for ISPE-sponsored meetings at the global level. In response, the Board approved the organization of up to four ISPE-sponsored meetings annually across all continents. This expansion presents a valuable opportunity for ISPE and its members. However, it also underscores the need for consistent standards across all meetings, particularly regarding scientific quality, as well as standardized logistical and financial support.
To address this need, the ISPE Meetings Oversight Committee has been newly established. Its mission is to provide oversight for all ISPE full and sponsored meetings, focusing on maintaining high scientific standards. Additionally, the committee will oversee financial and organizational matters to promote harmonization across meetings.
Each full and sponsored meeting will be supported by a subcommittee of the Meetings Oversight Committee. Importantly, this new committee does not replace the Scientific Program Committees of individual meetings.
Membership is by appointment from the Executive Committee and includes former Scientific Program Chairs, along with representatives from the Development and Finance Committees.
