The Health Equity (HE) SIG was established in 2021, and our mission is to serve a collaborative community of ISPE members with an interest in health equity research, disease disparities, clinical trial diversity, and social determinants of health. We’re also dedicated to the translation of this research into public health programs. Our members are passionate and driven about their work in the SIG and ardently believe in health equity for all. Now, more than ever, highlighting the importance and furthering research on health equity, health disparities, and social determinants of health is vital.
Over the past few years, we’ve accomplished really cool things! We’ve published, hosted journal clubs, and chaired and arranged workshops, symposia, and hot topics sessions at ISPE’s annual meetings. We’ve also chaired and hosted two webinars within the last year (Webinar 1; Webinar 2) with fantastic speakers and faculty. We have other webinars and workshops in the works, along with additional planned publications. Stay tuned!
SIG Meetings
The HE SIG meets quarterly to discuss the latest research and policies in the health equity space. In our past meetings, we’ve had a wide range of guest speakers who have led engaging discussions and broadened our understanding in a growing field. Our next meeting will be in person at the annual 2025 ISPE meeting.
